WHO ARE WE PREPARING AGAINST?
By Kurt Saxon
Jim and Gary sent e-mail to the effect that the anticipated collapse
leaves them confused as to who to shoot. It is a shame that the emphasis should be on
violence. If you work it right, you might avoid the need for violence.
Your first consideration should be learning how to provide for yourself and your loved
ones and become an asset to your community. In this way, your community may become an
island of security amid a sea of chaos. That is what my books are for.
Concerning violence against those who would invade your community, now or in the near
future, I recommend a subscription to U.S. MILITIA. It is not related to the
anti-government militias. In fact, it shows how to get rid of that type if they try to
take over your community.
Fortunately, the anti-government factions are dying out. Since our government has finally
learned not to over-react to idiots, the militia leaders have a harder time convincing
their members that our government is out to get them, or is even interested.
If you will read "You Can't Trust A Patriot", elsewhere on this web site, you
will see that the only conspiracy is that hatched by the Conspiracy Mongers to snare
suckers.
Fear of government control as a system declines is usually confused with a fear that one's
government isn't really in control. Too many people unconsciously feel their government is
a kind of parent, guaranteeing their security. As a system declines, its government
declines. It fails in keeping order. It seems to doze. Its overburdened and usually
incompetent leadership yammers on about how they are working on the problems and the ones
trying for office yammer on about how they are going to turn things around.
So, from feeling secure with a strong, in-control government, people feel abandoned and
even betrayed when their government gets overweight and senile. Imagine our present
government as a senile, fat old lion, dozing. But its paws can still give a mighty swipe
when it's annoyed.
Just don't annoy the lion. It is as simple as that. Don't join anti-government groups. Go
about your business and prepare quietly and no government agency will take any notice of
you.
Don't buy modern military weapons and ammo. I recommend a sturdy 30-06, a 12 gauge pump
shotgun and a .38 caliber Police Special revolver and practice. In this way, you will be
competent and unworried about stupid confiscation rumors.
Gary seems mainly worried about the military. I don't think we have more than three
million military personnel. What with the downsizing, base closings and sending troops out
of the country, we may not have any military after a while. At any rate, our military
would be too busy trying to save the cities to bother with decent folk.
As a system collapses, its soldiery, cops or whatever, don't care to be unpaid public
servants. They go home to their families. Any renegades causing trouble can be shot. No
problemo.
So stop worrying about things you can't do anything about at present. Confine your
thoughts to practical matters such as developing and applying useful skills. That's the
kind of people who have survived the collapse of every system down through the ages.
