THEY ALL CRIED, "WOLF" by Kurt Saxon Y2K and the Millennium came and went and
civilization didn't go with it. The Conspiricists, those who preach that our
system is being taken apart deliberately instead of coming apart by natural
degeneration, cried "wolf" once too often. They did a great
disservice to a lot of good and trusting people, many of whom will suffer ruin. In case you are unfamiliar with the crying
"wolf" story I'll tell it. A boy taking care of the sheep of the
villagers was bored. To amuse himself he cried "wolf" and was heard.
The villagers came running with guns to kill the wolf. The boy had a good laugh
and he didn't get a beating, yet. A few days later he did it again with the same
result. But being stupid, as all liars are, he cried "wolf" a third
time. But this time a real wolf was killing as many sheep as he could get his
teeth into and the villagers ignored the boy's cries. The flock was lost and the boy was finally beaten.
The villagers all lined up to give him whacks. But the villagers were partly at
fault for letting the boy get away with it the first time. After the Y2K fizzle the Conspiracy business has
lost even more believers than when the Soviet Union collapsed. They had been
going on and on about how the government was going to cause a Y2K disaster in
order to take over. When nothing happened only the most easily fooled were left
still believing in the Conspiracy fantasy. But the fantasy must go on, even if the Feds have to
subsidize the Conspiricists. They will come up come up with a new twist on the
old "take over and enslave us" nonsense. Maybe the Feds can give them something to build
rumors on. It's to their advantage to keep potential troublemakers wasting
their lives in an on-going soap opera like the Conspiracy. Cary and I were kicking around a fantasy of our own
that even Tom Clancy would appreciate. What if the Conspiracy were true? What
if real patriots were needed to arm against the Jews, the Feds and the U.N.?
What if the patriots, those aware and prepared to resist, were being set up by
the Conspiricsts and the Feds to be wiped out so as to prepare for a real
takeover? You may remember the French Maquis, those who
resisted the German occupiers during WW II. What if Nazi agents, posing as
patriots, working in France from about 1935 on, had warned of a German invasion
and rallied French patriots to prepare to defend? They would have been on radio
and in newspaper and magazine interviews. The German double agents would have had
them stand out as patriots who would sign up as members of hundreds of Militia
units all over France. Within 24 hours of the surrender of the French
government, the Maquis would have been rounded up and shot. But look what the Conspiricist leaders have done.
Every TV station and publication interviewing a patriot has his name, address
and a record of any anti-government statements. Consider the thousands of
Internet patriot news groups, easily monitored. Everyone logging on with an
opinion leaves his E-Mail address, easily traced. Every sheriff's department
has files on every local Militia member, as a matter of course. If there are,
indeed, hundreds of thousands of patriots in the U.S., you can be sure the Feds
have them all in computers, in case they should want to pick them up. And then there are name lists. Everyone who buys a
book promoting belief in the Conspiracy or a subscription to any
anti-government publication is on a name list. Everyone who signs up as a
member of any Militia or other extremist group is on a list. And don't think
those with the lists would withhold them if served with a Federal subpoena. To
withhold or destroy such a list would mean a four-year prison sentence for
contempt. Do you know anyone who would spend four years in a Federal pen for
the likes of you? Say a man subscribes to Playboy. He can say he does so for
the articles and he may be right. But if he buys hard-core pornography his
interests are plain. Take my customer list, for instance. My books, tapes and
CD-Rom are all a mixture of food processing, toy-making, crafts, trades and
weapons. Even the Poor Man's James Bonds are filled with martial arts,
gunsmithing, reloading, weapons history and weapons against which there is no
defence. Certainly more dangerous to any tyranny than the obvious and noisy
assault rifles and other conventional weapons easily defeated by any SWAT team.
(Read the Clarence Chronicles and join the Army of the Unseen). But my customer
list shows no real intent and so would be worthless. However, your name on a
list of any Conspiracist book sellers or group marks you as an extremist just
the same as your name on a list of buyers of hard-core pornography proves you
are sexually challenged. So you had better hope there is nothing to the
Conspiracy. Because, if there is, and you've gotten on any Conspiricsts lists
you've been set up for the kill. In my last editorial I promised to tell you how the
Feds could shut down the anti-government short-wave broadcasts if they wanted
to. I wondered about why such treasonous material would be allowed shortly
after I got on WWCR in late 1993. But first I'll tell you of my experience with WWCR.
My program was much like the Survivors; home businesses, self-sufficiency, etc.
I found that, except for a few bastardized religious programs, shortwave was
dominated by extreme anti-government programs. Caller after caller would get on and try to get me
to go along with the Conspiricist drivel. I would disprove every lie. I was
told by Adam Lock not to "piss off the patriots". I then only
responded when the caller insisted on talking such nonsense. After a few months the time change ruined reception
so I got off. Later I got back on and was given a junk frequency few people
could hear. I was encouraged to stay on at $135.00 per hour and was going out
of business. I had been given credit to the extent of $13,136.72, which I
simply couldn't pay. Such credit was easy to give. Since I was on a frequency
no one else wanted and since it was just a matter of turning a dial or pulling
a switch, WWCR was out nothing. I was sued by WWCR and outside the court room we
agreed that if I were put back on at a good time and a good frequency I would
pay the $135.00 plus $50.00 until what they said I owed was paid. I got back on
and was as nice as I could be until the time change hit again and I was let
off. Even so, when the reception was good on the programs before and after
mine, mine was often jammed so it was hard to hear. Then they put me on Sunday evening when most were in
church and so I had to get off again. By then I had paid $3,726.00 at $50.00
per night, leaving a balance of $9,410.00. I then waited until the proper time for the best reception
and asked to get back on. Adam Lock then faxed me that due to my lack of payments I could not get back on WWCR.
That was a breach of contract so I turned the matter over to my lawyer. He
called WWCR and then told me that they didn't have to put me back on, but if
they didn't they would forfeit what they said I owed. Can you think of a reason WWCR would throw away
$9,410.00 and the $135.00 per night I would have been paying per program? It
could only be that the simple truth from me was that much of a threat to the
Conspiracist clients of WWCR that they didn't dare let me back on. So could it
be that the only real conspiracy has been the Conspiracists conspiring to lead
a lot of decent people down a very dangerous path? Now about the Feds and short-wave. By the rules of
the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), short-wave is only for broadcasting
to foreign countries. 73.731 Licensing states that "(a) A license for an
international broadcasting station will be issued only after a satisfactory
showing has been made in regard to the following, among others: (1) That there
is a need for the international broadcasting service proposed to be rendered.
(5) That the public interest, convenience and necessity will be served through
the operation of the proposed station". There is certainly no need for the
extremist garbage you hear on WWCR or that it serves the public interest,
convenience and necessity. "73.788 Service; commercial or sponsored
programs, (a) A licensee of an international broadcast station shall render
only an international broadcast service which will reflect the culture of this country
and which will promote international goodwill, understanding, and cooperation. Any
program solely intended for and directed to an audience in the continental
United States does not meet the requirements for this service. "(b) Such international broadcast service may
include commercial or sponsored programs: Provided, That: (1) Commercial
program continuities give no more than the name of the sponsor of the program
and the name and general character of the commodity, utility or service, or
attraction advertised. "(2) In case of advertising a commodity, the
commodity is regularly sold or is being promoted for sale on the open market in
the foreign country or countries to which the program is directed in accordance
with paragraph (c) of this section. "(3) In case of advertising an American utility
or service to prospective tourists or visitors to the United States, the
advertisement continuity is particularly directed to such persons in the
foreign country or countries where they reside and to which the program is
directed in accordance with paragraph (c) of this section. "(5) In case of any other type of advertising,
such advertising is directed to the foreign country or countries to which the
program is directed and is consistent with the purpose and intent of this
section". According to 73.788 (a) anti-government programs are
certainly contrary to our national interests. Also, the prime-time programs
directed to a U.S. audience when Europeans get such programs from 3:00 a.m. in
the morning when most of the foreign audience is asleep is a violation of
73.788 (a). WWCR's short-wave commercials give much more than the name of that
being offered, plus prices. I know mine did. (2) The material offered is
certainly not being sold or promoted in the European's open markets. (3) The
ads are not directed to prospective tourists who may visit here. (5) The ads
are in no way directed to a foreign country. You don't need to be a lawyer to realize that the FCC could stop these programs and their ads with a phone call. Now you know that the only reason the FCC lets these programs stay on short-wave is because our Federal government has its own reasons for letting these programs stay on the air in direct violation of FCC rules.
